Listening Support

This new project is being established with the help of Lloyds TSB Foundation, and builds on our existing work to provide additional help for first time visitors.

Staff and volunteers will work closely with the prison to identify prisoners who have concerns about their family and think that their visitors may need extra emotional support. In this way, we hope to pick up potential visitors who otherwise may not have had the courage to make that first visit. Volunteers will be able to provide a listening service, but also plan to meet up with first time visitors before they go through the search procedures etc. and will offer an escort service if needed.
