Mark has a background in social work and started his career in ‘Intermediate Treatment’, now known as Youth Justice, delivering programmes providing alternatives to custody in London. He moved to Durham to work for DISC in 1990 as manager for their ‘Challenge – alternatives to care and custody project’ and never looked back. He was chief executive of DISC from 2009 to 2015.
Mark joined Nepacs as a trustee/board member in October 2005, bringing with him management skills and experience of running a complex third sector organisation.
His outside interests are definitely outside – mountaineering, winter climbing and mountain biking.
