Working with you

Our family support managers/advocates work with a wide range of organisations across the north east to facilitate a joined up, multi-agency approach to working with the children and families of prisoners.

In the Durham and Tees Valley region, this has resulted in innovations such as a Hidden Sentence ‘walk throughs’ for professionals – who experience what it is like to visit a prison, receive training on the ‘hidden sentence’ served by families of prisoners and have an opportunity to meet with prisoners, who talk about the importance of family ties to them and their families.

If you are a professional working in the north east or an organisation please get in touch if you would like to:

  • Gain a better understanding of how to improve the coordination of services to provide more effective support for those affected by the imprisonment of a family member

  • Understand how to improve your own practice in supporting prisoners' families

  • Find out more about Nepacs and how we can support your work
