Family and parenting support service
Nepacs is working with Northumbria Community Rehabilitation Company (CRC) to continue to support ex-prisoners and family members in the Northumberland, Tyne and Wear area after release, as well as helping with family and parenting issues experienced by people serving community sentences.
We can help with advice and practical support around family issues, including:
Parenting – including a Dads and Dads to be course
Re-establishing contact with family members
Contact with children (unless this is not allowed by your licence conditions)
Talking to schools, health visitors or social services about your children
Where you can get more support on other issues
Our staff and volunteers are there to listen and provide emotional support too.
Support after release
The period of release and resettlement can lead to mixed emotions for you and your family. Everyone may have different concerns or expectations about the future.
Nepacs has a project called Heading Home which will be available in the community to help offenders and their families move forward together. Find out more HERE.
If you think you need this kind of help and live in Tyne and Wear or Northumberland, please ask your probation / responsible officer to make a referral into the service for you.
